Lip treatments frequently use dermal fillers to enhance the lips by adding volume and plumping them up.
These products replace the body’s own volume-giving tissue, lost through the natural ageing process.
Collagen and elastin are natural products found in the skin. They are responsible for helping to keep the skin firm and full. As the body gets older, these substances decline and their reproduction becomes less effective. For the lips, this results in their appearance becoming thinner, and fine lines start to emerge. Lips that are thinner by nature are often down to the genes that a person inherits.
Paradise Aesthetic Clinic uses Restylane (Medicis) and Juvederm (Allergan) fillers. These sterile gels, consisting of non-animal cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA), have the best safety profile of all the fillers currently on the market.
The use of dermal fillers is considered to be the most advanced and effective solution for controlling premature signs of ageing and enhancing the lip’s appearance. It is injected directly into the areas of concern, allowing the lip to immediately plump. As well as adding volume, the Hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate the lips.
In turn, this produces a natural, more youthful dewy glow.
A bespoke treatment plan can be arranged through one of our fully insured and qualified expert aestheticians, based on your individual concerns and desired outcome. The effects may last up to 1 year and any follow-up / maintenance treatments can also be discussed.

A thorough consultation will address your concerns and recommend if this treatment is suitable for you. You may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and it is advised that you wait until your circumstances have changed before seeking this treatment.
You may feel an initial sting, but this is very brief due to the fine needles that are used. Your advanced and experienced aesthetic practitioner may be able to make this procedure more comfortable for you. A topical anaesthetic cream can numb the area and reduce any discomfort. This can be done approximately 20 minutes before the procedure is due to commence.
Lip enhancement treatment typically takes around 20 – 30 minutes. The area will be numbed using a topical anaesthetic cream (applied from 20 – 30 minutes, prior to treatment), helping to minimise any discomfort and therefore less painful.
The results from lip enhancing treatments are often quite significant, noticing an increase in volume to the lips, becoming more balanced and in proportion with the rest of the facial features. Although a swift response initially, the result will continue to develop with the final outcome expected within 7 days. As each person responds differently to the product, the desired result may require a top-up after 2 – 4 weeks, with maintenance treatments being necessary after 6 – 12 months.
This is a low-risk treatment that rarely produces post-procedure complications. There is no downtime to anticipate and recovery is almost instantaneous. The patient can go about their normal day and maintain their lifestyle without being constricted in any way. The procedure may incur some redness, swelling, itching or some slight irritation at the injection site. We do not recommend that you expose the lips to intense heat or cold, or the sun. If you are prone to cold sores, you may find this will trigger an onset, which you can treat with over-the-counter medication before the procedure, and for some time afterwards (your healthcare professional can advise).
