Plasma Therapy

Plasma Therapy is used as a type of regenerative medicine and uses the body’s own ability to grow new tissue cells and effectively heal itself.

Plasma Therapy

Treatment overview

Found in the blood, plasma contains fluids and proteins and enables the circulation of platelets through the body. It is these platelets (thrombocytes) that stimulate the body’s natural healing process.

At Paradise Aesthetic Clinic this procedure is used to rejuvenate the skin and areas of the body where cell renewal can make a difference. By using the growth factors that are contained within the plasma, this can effectively aid healing and repairing of the area of concern.

Plasma Therapy employs the use of the same techniques that are used for PRP. The required amount of the client’s own blood is taken, then run through a centrifuge.

This process separates the plasma from the rest of the fluids and other impurities. The concentrated platelets are then prepared and administered, either by injection or intravenously, into the area where damaged tissues are causing a problem. Growth factors are then released, stimulating the body’s reparative cells. Results have been successful when treating: lines and wrinkles, volume loss in the mid-face, dark eye circles, neck and jawline rejuvenation, acne scarring, crepey skin, sexual rejuvenation and hair loss.

An in-depth look at the presenting condition will enable an expert therapist at Paradise Aesthetic Clinic to determine the suitability of this ground-breaking procedure and recommend a personalised treatment plan.

Frequently asked questions

The conditions that Plasma Therapy can effectively treat include: lines and wrinkles, facial volume loss affecting the cheeks and mid-face area, sagging skin around the neck and jawline, crepey skin on the chest and decolletage, nasolabial folds, marionette creases, acne scarring, aging skin on the hands and arms, hair loss and sexual health concerns.

Temporary pain or discomfort is to be expected at the treatment site, following this procedure. Complications from this treatment are rare, but can include: infection, bleeding or injury to blood vessels. Your healthcare professional will ensure you are fully informed of all common and uncommon side effects before the procedure takes place.

The aims of Plasma Therapy at Paradise Aesthetic Clinic are to rejuvenate the skin on areas of the face and body by encouraging cellular renewal. Results from this procedure may not always be instant, but will develop gradually over a 4 – 6 week period. The degree of success will largely depend on the patient’s general health, age and lifestyle.

For some client’s the process will need to be repeated to reach their desired goal. In some cases the patient has returned some months, or even years later, to maintain the results. This largely depends on the condition that has been treated and the internal processes that affect the ever changing structure of the skin.

Your healthcare professional may recommend a period that you should refrain from undertaking strenuous activities. Anti-inflammatory medications should be avoided for up to 4 weeks, in order not to inhibit the healing process. Your expert therapist may also advise that you attend a follow-up visit. This will enable effective monitoring of your process of healing and recovery.

Although both treatments are used for regenerative purposes, they help to repair damaged tissues throughout the body in different ways. Plasma therapy directly uses the stem cells in the plasma, whereas PRP uses the growth factors to encourage the presence of stem cells. Depending on the condition, your expert therapist will be the best person to determine whether PRP or Plasma Therapy would be the most effective treatment method to use.
