PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, is a treatment that can promote the healing of the skin.
Your blood contains Plasma, which is rich in proteins. When these proteins are extracted and purified, they can be injected back into your face, which helps to encourage the growth of new healthy skin cells.
The skin’s structure and quality changes as we get older, and the process that helps to replenish and repair the skin declines in efficiency. Due to this, the skin can take on an appearance that looks less youthful, with a tone and texture that is uneven.
On the day of treatment your healthcare professional will extract an appropriate amount of blood. This blood will be spun in a centrifuge machine to separate the plasma from other fluids and impurities. A technologist will prepare the plasma and when it is ready, it will be injected into the areas of the face which are of concern.
The plasma is rich in natural growth factors; essential for DNA repair. As well as encouraging the restoration of healthy skin through skin cell regeneration, PRP can also stimulate collagen production for a fuller look. Addressing conditions such as: lines and wrinkles, dry skin and dull skin, this treatment can also be effective in improving the appearance of minor scarring, and hair loss.
A consultation with one of Paradise Aesthetic Clinic’s fully insured and experienced experts, will enable a bespoke treatment plan to be put together that suits your needs.

This treatment is generally used to rejuvenate the skin on the face, neck and decolletage. It can be particularly effective when used around the eyes, where the skin is more delicate. Although this is a popular facial procedure, it has been known to have successful results for rejuvenating the skin on the hands and parts of the body where minor scarring is present. Effective results are also reported when used on the scalp, for areas of hair loss.
Adverse side effects arising from this treatment are very rare, as the patient’s own blood platelets are used. However, the treatment site may experience some itching, sensitivity
or minor bleeding. This is due to the disruption that injections cause to the skin and will usually subside within 24 hours.
Your healthcare professional will be able to recommend the amount of treatments that will benefit you, and give you an understanding of the results that can be achieved. We find that patients will typically require around 3 treatment sessions, performed 4 weeks apart, for maximum results.
Certain medical conditions may mean that PRP is not a recommended treatment for you, for example: low platelet count and liver disease. If you are taking anticoagulation medications this may also prohibit you from having this treatment. Your healthcare professional will explain all contraindications to you during your pre-treatment consultation.
In order for the area to have the time to effectively heal, it may be advised that you keep the area dry for up to 6 hours, following treatment. Your healthcare professional may also recommend that you refrain from applying creams, lotions or make-up. Sun exposure and rigorous exercise should also be avoided for up to 3 days.
